Annual Retreat

LOMC Lodge LOMC Lodge

Each fall the Chicago Area Polymer Clay Guild hosts a retreat where members can gather in a common workspace and exercise their creative muscles while socializing with fellow artists. The retreat location is in Oregon, IL, at the Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center (LOMC) in the Freedom Tree Village adult center. Accommodations include the use of a common building, which is used as a workspace and the dining area, and two separate buildings for lodging. Each lodge is set up like a hotel, with a foyer that has open seating, a fireplace, coffee maker, microwave, and mini-fridge. Each room has twin beds and a bathroom with a standing shower. All facilities are handicap accessible.

The buildings are located in a woodland setting and are set back enough to offer a quiet, serene, and private atmosphere but without being too secluded. Often deer or turkey are seen in the area and there are several hiking trails on the property. It is a short drive to get into town and the staff that work on location are always nearby.
